Pineapple Blueberry Jelly King
He is a ruler, an overlord, a top dog, a crowned head. In the richly varied domain of prokaryotic microorganisms, Jelly King reigns supreme. Rather than choosing between sour or hoppy, Bellwoods decided to create a beer that would be both at the same time. Showcasing the aromatic benefits of a generous dry hop (Citra, Amarillo, and Cascade), harnessing the pleasing acidity of lactic acid producing bacteria (they use a 5-strain house blend), and coming to a bottle near you without a pesky 2-year slumber in oak, Jelly King is the fermented embodiment of having your cake and eating it too. What it smells like, what it tastes like, what it looks like: This addition to the ongoing fruited Jelly King series employs the gratuitous use of tangy, sweet blueberries and juicy, tropical pineapple. Tart, lightly sweet and finishing dry, this refreshing tonic is perfectly fitting for, well…just about anything.

ABOUT THE BREWERY:
Bellwoods began as a small brewery, and pub in downtown Toronto. They officially opened their doors to the public in April 2012 When it comes to their beers, these have evolved (and will continue to evolve) over time – and it makes sense, because they have travelled, collaborated, and learned a lot since they opened. Bellwoods makes a variety of bright, fresh, hoppy styles ranging from aromatic pale ales, to fruity Double IPAs. Their enthusiasm for Imperial Stouts is undeniable, and recreating their big releases each year like Bring Out Your Dead, Skeleton Key, or 3 Minutes to Midnight, is always a fun challenge. An additional area of focus is in the production of farmhouse and/or wild ales.
